Christmastime means Christmas pictures in my book! As you may already know due to the very existence of this blog, I LOVE taking pictures. I love preserving things and freezing them as they are so that I can forget them. That is a perfect reason to take Christmas pictures! Family pictures are fun even if you don’t yet have kids and are still just the two of you, like us, it’s still important to document the stages of your family and save these frame-able memories as you are, in the year 2015.
So I scheduled a shoot with my go-to photographer, local Utah photographer Diana Putnam Photography. She has tons of special deals during the holidays like her mini sessions for $150! You can read my full list of family pictures tips in my last post.
What We Wore
I have literally been wearing this herringbone vest and plaid shirt with leggings and hunter boots outfit on the daily this season so I figured it would be a perfect representation of me this year! (See this post with the outfit details!) I told my husband to wear whatever he wanted (and hinted that his new Nike puffer jacket would go nicely with my shirt.) It worked perfectly and we matched like we truly meant to!
Sometimes wearing my hair down with this vest feels stuffy because of the high collar. So hair stylist Brittany Sawatzki of Tanglez Hair & Makeup styled my hair for these photos in a swooping side style involving fishtail braids or a fish tail crown leading into a knotted messy side braid. Isn’t it gorgeous! You’re going to be seeing more styles by Brittany lots more this coming year! (I’ll post more photos of my hair in my next post.)
I pinned a bunch of Christmas picture ideas and decided that I wanted to take our couples Christmas pictures at a Christmas tree lot! (I initially wanted to cut down our own tree at a Christmas tree farm like this one but you had to go before November 28th so we barely missed it. Another year!)
The day we picked turned out to be so cold because it snowed the night before! But the snow was so beautiful in the background on the Christmas trees I wouldn’t have it any other way! Diana is amazing. I feel like these pictures accurately capture our little family’s personality, (he has his own sporty style and I have my own girly style) and our love for each other. Like in this pic below. *heart eyes emoji* I’m framing this one for sure!
More to come on my outfit in my next post!
