Celebrating Cinco de Mayo reminds us to live our lives more colorfully and spend more time with the people we love! My sister Worthington Avenue and I planned this sabroso Cinco de Mayo themed “Baja Brunch” to spice up this spring day!
My sister Cami from Worthington Avenue and her darling baby and I hangout quite a bit since we are blessed to live so near each other! For this particular outing, we collected everything colorful that we could find to throw ourselves this little Cinco de Mayo Picnic that Cami so accurately named “Baja Brunch.” We invited photographer Diana Putnam Photography along for the fun too!
I found two of these gorgeous Mexican blankets and this talavera dishware while on our vacation to Southern California when we went shopping on Olivera Street. (I’ve decided I want a whole kitchen full of Mexican talavera dishes but I am limiting myself to only buying a few pieces a year.) The bright orange pillow is from Nanny Goat Pillows, and I sewed the other two myself for our living room last year. Cami found this darling picnic basket and colorful plate at Target (of course!) Photographer Diana Putnam (who moved here from Mexico) made this delicious fruit drink and plate of colorful bell peppers and berries! She also provided this darling vase! My tote bag made from Guatemalan huipils is from an adorable shop called Musbags. (If you haven’t already noticed, I take it everywhere!)
We are wearing darling Mexican dresses and tops from Flor de Luz Shop! Cami is wearing this dress/mumu I posted about last week, and I’m wearing this mexican top I’m styling today on the blog! My adorable niece is wearing a white eyelet dress from Target adorned with a bright orange ribbon we thought looked super cute! Her bow was made for her by my own mother-in-law, and she looks adorable in it! She had an absolute blast eating the cucumbers during our little picnic!
I love all of these girls so dearly and I’m so blessed to have friends and sisters so near! Check out both of these girls’ websites while I’m raving about them so you can love them as much (almost as much) as I do! Cami’s blog Worthington Avenue is all about books and motherhood (watch out, reading it will make you baby hungry x a million!) and Diana’s website Diana Putnam Photography is full of her gorgeous photography! (She’s got special deals going on right now for Senior Portraits and also has a Mother’s Day Giveaway going on on her instagram where she’s giving away a free maternity photoshoot!)
