Last week while I was on a business trip in the Bay Area, I spent a day with my good friend and fellow blogger Emma’s Parlour who just moved out to the East Bay! The funniest thing is, we were accidentally totally twinning with our black on black chic modest outfit ensembles and brown leather wedges! See her outfit here. Too funny!
We spent the afternoon enjoying the grounds of the beautiful LDS Oakland Temple, admiring it’s unbeadable views of the bay, and watching the new Meet the Mormons episodes in the Visitors Center (now playing in all LDS Visitors Centers so go see them if you live near an LDS Temple! Then we wrapped up the night with some pictures and treated ourselves to dinner at a cute little Italian restaurant. A perfect day with a very good friend indeed!
This black on black chic modest outfit is composed of this loose black lace top and stretchy black distressed jeans from @rockyway.shopstevie! Enter our giveaway on instagram with this cute modest shop to win this same exact top!
I love the lace on the sleeves and bottom of the top. The see-through lace on the shirt hem actually creeps up to crop-top height, so I modesty hacked it by layering a Plumm Hip Huggers (like a black layering tube top for your midsection) underneath it (tucked into my jeans and my bra.) These may however not be available anymore so a black tank top or layering tee would do nicely too!
These black jeans are perfectly stretchy, perfectly distressed at the knees and the ankles, and are just all around so comfortable!
I accented this black outfit with pops of leopard like this furry fold-over leopard clutch from modest shop Tara Lynn’s Boutique!
Don’t forget to check out Emma’s beautiful twinning look from this day!

I actually based this outfit off a look by another LDS SF blogger I admire, Shannon Willardson. This look of hers popped up in my feed the other day and I just loved it! I never would have thought of pairing this black and black look with brown leather wedges on my own so I’m so glad she inspired me to! I love the way this outfit turned out!
In case there are others out there in serious need of some retail therapy, I threw together a quick blog post with my favorites from the #Nsale.
