Today I choose to be a mermaid. This mermaid hair and this mermaid swimsuit sure make me feel like one anyway! This Rad Swim suit may just be my official fave!
Mermaids have more fun. This one piece mermaid swimsuit combines seamlessly with my rose gold hair for the perfect mermaid vibe I was going for. Mermaids are trending all over the place and I couldn’t be happier since, let’s be honest, I don’t think any of us really ever wanted to outgrow them anyway.
This mint sequin one piece swimming suit is from Rad Swim, an online modest swimwear shop that has me head-over-heels smitten with every suit! (This is my 3rd post featuring a Rad Swim suit, you’d also like the modest black fringe swimsuit and modest neoprene swimsuit.) It fits 100% perfectly on me, I love the color, I love the sequins across the bust, and I love where the neckline hits (not too low). The straps are removable if you did want to wear it strapless. It also comes with an adorable matching swimskirt you can wear as a coverup!
I styled this suit with a minty coverup with Mexican embroidery accents from Bohme Boutique. I bought it specifically for my honeymoon to Costa Rica and it was perfect for slipping on for dinner after a day in the sun! I also think this suit is super cute with this matching mint mexican blanket. I bought this blanket on Olivera Street in LA but I found these similar Mexican blankets for $16 (you’re welcome!)
This particular straw beach tote and aviators are from Walmart, then I found this even cuter straw beach tote for $24! I just might get that one too! I Finally, these gold and white sandals are my go-to shoes this summer! I bought them at Kohl’s for $10 and now they are only $7.49! Um, thank you end-of-summer sales!
These fun pictures were taken by my favorite Utah photographer Diana Putnam Photography. I love the way she plays with light and color!
The greatest part about this suit is that it is modest. I love when a suit is designed to cover and be cute too! Because I’ve been calling this the mermaid suit, it reminds me of some very special art by an adorable little artist that lives here in Utah! Her name is Gracie, she is 6 years old, and she draws “modest mermaids”! I bought a little pack of her adorable greeting cards at the last Beehive Bazaar (small shop vendor fair) where she had this setup below:
Her handwritten bio says, “I’m already kind of famous. I believe in modesty so I paint modest mermaids. Iv been in the newspaper and in the Springville museum twice and Deseret Book. This is my third time at the Beehive Bazaar.” -Gracie’s Modest Mermaids
Gracie, you are absolutely awesome! Who says we can’t be mermaids just because we don’t want to wear itty bitty seashells as tops! I believe in modesty too, and like Gracie don’t think that should stop even our wildest dreams from coming true! (Like being a mermaid 🙂 We can be cute without sacrificing modesty, and be modest without sacrificing cuteness.
P.S. You’d better believe I’m framing these cards above my desk!
