Christmas falls on a Sunday this year so that means we will attend one hour of Church for Christmas hymns and messages of the Savior before heading back for presents. It’s so special to get to worship in His house on the day we celebrate the birth of the Savior of the world! If you’d like to attend church on Christmas Day too, you can use this Meetinghouse Locator to find an LDS church and time near you, It’s easy, just type in your address, wear your favorite Christmas dress or outfit, and go in sit in the chapel and take it all in! Everyone is welcome and it’s truly the best way to end this amazing year.
This Christmas I discovered a brand new modest clothing company I’m excited to tell you about called Modique! All of Modique’s dresses are both original (you can’t find them anywhere else) and perfectly modest, just the way I like them! The dresses are designed and made in Chicago by super sweet designer/owner/girlboss Chalise who I had the honor of meeting at the Utah Fashion Week Fashion Designer Conference last month. The dresses on their website will blow your mind and leave you sleepless till you get one in your closet.
I chose the Afton dress both for Christmas, winter Sunday dress, winter weddings, and business meetings because it’s an ideal dress for everything. I love the green and black print, the business-like cut, the length, and the exposed old zipper. It’s comfortable too and not too tight which is nice for sitting through weddings or church. I layered it with opaque black leggings (worn as tights, simply worn around my feet instead of my ankles), black booties with matching gold zippers, and a BCBG hooded wool dress coat. (Funny story, I actually picked out this coat at TJ Maxx after I submitted my mission papers to serve an LDS mission, but then after receiving my call to serve in Guatemala I definitely didn’t pack this coat and saved it for after my mission, like today!)
Next up I think I’ll choose the Leah dress. It’s almost impossible to tell, but it’s actually lined with nude in the neckline and shoulders! how perfect, right?
These Christmas photos were taken by my girl Diana Putnam Photography! This shoot marks two years since our very first photoshoot together and my very first photoshoot for this blog in December 2014! Happy 2nd Anniversary to our friendship and my blog!
