I had the super-fun opportunity to slide down a giant 1000ft slip ‘n slide right down the middle of downtown Salt Lake City called Slide the City! (See if their coming to your city!) Sliding towards Temple Square in my swimsuit best, on my favorite floatie, in the sun with some besties. It was a fabulous day! I wore my newest suit from brand new modest swimsuit company, Janela Bay! Janela Bay designs their own modest swimwear so you can’t find their designs anywhere else. They are all mix and match separates so picked this striped modest high neck drawstring halter swimsuit top and mismatched striped vintage-inspired high waisted bottoms and I just love how the combo turned out!
These photos were taken for us by Utah Photographer Trish Karen Photography who braved the noon-day sun, heat, and splashes with us on this beautiful day!
Aren’t my friends so cute! All of these girls are modest fashion bloggers (+ Slide the City’s social media guy there in the middle!) Left to right we’ve got Keara from Modest Style, Karli from Teach Shop Love, Amber from Modestly Hot, and then me!
I found this cute Flamingo Print Dress from LulaRoe which I wore as a coverup so that I could more comfortably walk to the event from where I parked my car blocks away. I think it goes so nicely with my flamingo floatie!
I’d never tried one of these 90’s inspired modest high neck drawstring halter swimsuit tops but I knew I’d probably like them for their high neckline, and I was right! I am SO glad I picked this suit to wear to the slip ‘n slide! I was so comfortable knowing that everything was staying in it’s place no matter how much I slide, flipped, and flopped (and trust me, there was a lot of that! I’m definitely no professional slip ‘n slider and definitely need a lot more practice!)
The high neckline is perfect for an active day of sliding, splashing, boating, chicken fighting, and playing! I love that I can bend over with no cleavage showing at all, perfect for mamas or playing with little kids. Btw, this top does come with a shelf and nicely padded, ( I actually slid the original pads out and swapped them out for some thinner pads I had leftover from another suit.) The peplum nicely aligns with the waistband of the high waisted bottoms which is nice for jumping and moving.
These black and white vertical striped vintage bikini bottoms are just the cutest! I’ve already tried them on with various different tops and I’m definitely going to be wearing these over and over again! They have nice coverage of the bum cheeks (something that’s getting harder and harder to find,) and I love the height. These come up to my belly button (I’m 5’3″ for reference.)
I really like the way the mismatched stripes combo turned out! I love the stripes different sizes, colors, and directions! This modest striped top would be so cute with floral swimsuit bottoms too!
Best of all I loved this constant view of the LDS Salt Lake City Temple that we had all day long! Best view in the city!
Happy swimsuit shopping!
